The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of adventurers who will split off from the main group to begin their own adventure, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table features Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be impossible.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the campaign’s events—exploited the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, striking Thimble, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then settled his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- Kattigan is familiar with Timmony and warns that it is a hostile environment.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to execute the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their status as key figures in House Halovar could enable the party reach areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, Teor pledged a life debt to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the family.
This means them few options but to travel to the remote area in search of the traitor.
